12/20/2023 0 Comments 94 thunderbird v8Would someone find value in this as a fixer upper? If so, what would it go for/what should I try selling it for? As for the other stuff, I really don't have much car knowledge. My question is, do you guys think someone would be interested in buying it to fix it up? I know a gasket is fairly cheap, just time consuming to replace. Otherwise, the car drives (and I really have no choice in the matter, otherwise I can't get to work). The body isn't in bad shape, just few small spots of rust. This is based off the last shop's recommendations. It needs new rear brake pads and rotors, rear shocks, a valve cover gasket, a rear pinion seal all on top of the gasket itself. I decided to look at the records she gave me, turns out this thing is more trouble than it's worth for me. It has also been sitting in storage for a few years. I don't know if that's the extent of the leak, but it had to have happened recently as the coolant was just filled. I pulled one of the spark plug covers and found the plug swimming in anti-freeze. Turns out, this car also has a bad gasket. I got the Thunderbird the day before and I thought all was well.until I got curious as to why it was shaking while idling. Spent $300 on a new water pump, starter, and a vacuum leak. Plus the assholes at the shop I took it to couldn't identify that it was a bad gasket, thinking the coolant was just dirty. I literally just sent my 93 Lumina off to get scrapped a few days ago too. This was the nicest, and newest, i've ever owned. I know some people will laugh, but i've only had crap cars before. She's the type to always keep things clean and keeps records of everything, so I had high hopes for the car. I just got a 94 Thunderbird LX for free from my sister-in-law. I'm a poor college student, barely scraping by with what money I have.
